IEEE Women in Engineering and IEEE Young Professionals Track INDICON 2019

IEEE Women in Engineering – IEEE Young Professionals track is planned on the first day of INDICON 2019 - 13th December, 2019. The track is organized by WIE and YP Affinity Groups of IEEE Gujarat Section with the Objective “To Promote, Motivate, Engage and Inspire Women and Young Professionals in Science, Technology Engineering and Mathematics”. The track will provide opportunities for Networking, Mentoring and Collaboration to the attendees of INDICON 2019.

Dr. B.V. Sumangala :


Dr. B.V. Sumangala is serving as Professor at Dept. of EEE - Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology - Bangalore. She has 34 years of teaching experience including 22 years of research. She served as Dean at Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology from 2008 to 2015. She received "Best Teacher" Award for the year 1995 and for 2007. She has published 3 books on Network Analysis. She has published more than 85 Research Papers in National and International Journals. Her Research is on the areas Insulation and High Voltage Engineering, Surge Phenomena in Transformers, Renewable Energy, Expert System Applications to Power Systems. She is serving as Paper Reviewer for Elsevier Journal, International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Advances in Engineering, International Journal of Engineering Research and Industrial Applications. She served as Member, Advisory Editorial Board for International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research & Advances in Engineering and for International Journal of Engineering Research & Industrial Applications, for the period of 2012-15. She is serving as Member, Advisory Committee for Ascent International journals. She has guided more than 75 students for their Projects.

Dr Preeti Bajaj

Dr. Preeti Bajaj is Director of G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur having 29 years of experience. She had been instrumental to design and development of ITS systems in public and private sector like toll collection/toll audit /highway traffic management system and AITS by applying Soft/hybrid Computing, Intelligent Systems & Applications of Fuzzy logic in ITS. At present, she is engaged in research in Biomedical and AI. She is active volunteer of IEEE and presently Vice Chair Awards IEEE India Council, Member MGA Awards & Recognition committee and founder Chair of Nagpur Subsection and also on BoG of IEEE HKN. She is an Ex -MemberGC, National Board of Accreditations. She has chaired many sessions in international conferences in India & abroad. Ten students have been awarded Ph.D. under her supervision. She has authored & co-authored 150 plus reviewed Publications with citations 800 plus & h-index ratio 14 & i10-index ratio 22. She has co-authored three book chapters in an international publication. She is founder General Chair of ICETET series of Nine IEEE Conferences. Her efforts have turned 208 projects into patents leading to transform a private Engineering institution into India's premier, Engineering and Research Institute in last 5 years

Dr Rajashree Jain

Dr. Rajashree Jain is an Associate Professor and Programme Head for BBA-IT (Bachelors in Business Administration Information Technology), at Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research, Pune, India. She has more than 20 years of experience in teaching, research and academic administration. She obtained her Ph.D Degrsoee under the faculty of Computer Studies from Symbiosis International University, Pune, Maharashtra, India. She holds double Masters Degrees in Applied Electronics. Her research areas are Microwave techniques, antennas, optimization, nature based algorithms, AI and Sensor network, IOT, Data analysis, entrepreneurship and education. She is an active member of professional organizations like IEEE, CSI and National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN). For the past 10 years she has been into entrepreneurship training and mentoring student start-ups in the area of techno management. She is a certified entrepreneurship educator from NEN, IIM B and Stanford Technical Ventures Programme (STVP). Past several Years she has been working as an active volunteer to serve IEEE Pune Section in various capacities. She was Chair, Women Engineering, IEEE Pune Section 2014-2016. She currently is Vice Chair, WIE, IEEE India Council and Secretary IEEE Pune Section.

Focused Round Table

The round-table mentoring session is meant to provide a forum for students and young professionals (SYP) to connect with experts from industry and academia to learn about the various available research and career options. The session will be setup in the form of multiple themed tables. Each table will have at least 2-mentor to facilitate discussion. The event will focus on two career tracks: Academia (Teaching, Career Opportunities and Research) and Corporation (R&D, Management and Career Paths).
